Suasana hati lain juga dapat memicu keinginan untuk makan juga, seperti kebosanan yang 52 persen memicu ingin makan. Sementara depresi dan kesepian 39 persen memicu untuk makan. Kesadaran sederhana pada keadaan emosi Anda dapat menghambat nafsu makan.
6. Lebih baik makan sendiri
Teman memang pendukung yang baik untuk berdiet, tetapi bukan saat makan siang atau malam. Makan bersama teman berarti waktu lebih lama duduk di meja. Keadaan ini bisa menyebabkan Anda mengorder lebih banyak minuman dan makanan penutup.

7. Cek jadwal makan
"Secara alami perut mengeluarkan hormon ghrefin setiap 30 menit untuk mengirimkan pesan ke otak agar makan," tutur Roizen dan Oz. Saat berdiet atau enam jam puasa, pesan itu datang lebih cepat, tiga kali dalam satu jam dan lebih intensif.
Pesan dari hormon itu kadang mengalahkan tekad kita untuk tidak mengonsumsi makanan lezat yang ada di meja. Makanlah setiap tiga hingga empat jam. Jika masih lapar, kunyahlah apel atau buah-buahan untuk membuat hormon ghrelin bahagia.
8. Periksa kadar stres
"Stres ekstrem seperti pada kecelakaan mobil dapat mematikan rasa lapar Anda," kata Roizen dan Oz. Sementara stres kronis, seperti tenggat waktu yang sudah dekat atau masalah keluarga, justru membuat Anda ngidam makanan yang mengandung karbohidrat.

Beliau Baginda Rosululloh Muhammad Bersabda :
“ Jika ALLOH mencintai seorang hamba, Dia menjauhkannya dari kehidupan dunia ini sebagaimana kalian menjauhkan orang sakit dari makanan dan minuman. ALLOH menjadikan hamba-Nya yang beriman menjauh dari kehidupan dunia ini ”

Hadist yang banyak beredar dan diketahui oleh banyak orang seperti “Diet adalah obat utama” perut adalah sarang penyakit, berikanlah kepada masing – masing orang menurut kebiasaan makan dan obat, menurut para ulama’ hadist, ini bukan hadist, Ungkapan – ungkapan tersebut berasal dari Al-Harist bin Kaladah, seorang dokter dari Arab


Disebutkan dalam sebuah hadist bahwa Nabi Muhammad S.A.W bersabda : “ Perut adalah kolam tubuh yang dengannya urat – urat darah terhubung. Jika perut sehat, pembuluh darah akan berfungsi dengan baik dan jika perut sakit, pembuluh darah tidak akan berfungsi dengan baik”

Al-Harist menyebutkan bahwa : “ Diet adalah obat utama. ” Bagi mereka, diet yang dikerjakan orang sehat serupa bahayanya dengan kebiasaan makan tak sehat bagi orang yang sedang sakit dan orang yang baru sembuh dari sakit. Diet paling bermanfaat ketika dilaksanakan olah orang yang baru sembuh dari penyakit karena kekuatan dan kesehatan organ – organ tubuh belum normal, proses pencernaan tidak se-efisien biasanya, sedangkan organ tubuh masih mudah terkena penyakit. Kebiasaan makan tidak sehat dapat menimbulkan penyakit yang mungkin lebih parah dari sebelumnya

Rosululloh melarang Ali makan kurma ketika dalam proses penyembuhan merupakan tindakan pencegahan terbaik. Buah – buahan berbahaya bagi orang yang sedang mengalami proses penyembuhan karena buah – buahan menuntut proses pencernaan secara cepat, sedangkan tubuh sedangkan tubuh sedang melawan penyakit dan tidak cukup kuat memproses makanan berlebihan. Kurma segar menambah beban bagi perut ketika tubuh sedang melawan penyakit dan menghilangkan efek – efeknya. Sisa – sisa penyakit akan hilang atau justru menghebat kembali, tergantung pada kondisi tubuh.

Karena itu, ketika bubur gandum dan sayur rebus yang sudah dimasak dihidangkan, Rosululloh menyuruh Ali untuk memakannya. Hidangan tersebut adalah makanan terbaik bagi pasien yangsedang mengalami proses penyembuhan dan orang – orang yang perutnya lemah. Air gandum yang dimasak dingin dan bergizi serta memiliki kualitas – kualitas pereda lainnya, merelaksasi perut dan memperkuat tubuh, teutama dimasak dengan sayur rebus.

Zaid bin aslam pernah berkata :”Umar bin Khotob pernah melarang keras orang yang sedang sakit makan kurma segar sampai dia menghisap biji kurma.” Diet merupakan salah satu obat terpenting sebelum dan sesudah penyakit menyerang karena dapat mencegah penyakit menyebar atau berkembang.

Jika Orang sehat , orang yang sedang dalam proses penyembuhan atau orang sakit sangat menginginkan makanan atau minuman tertentu yangtidak boleh mereka makan, diperbolehkan jika a mengkonsumsinya sedikit saja. Perut akan menerima dan mencerna makanan dengan mudah dan menetralisir efek buruknya karena makanan itu lebih berguna dari pada obat yang tidak disukai. Inilah sebabnya Rosululloh membolehkan shuhaib memakan sedikit kurma ketika ia menderita sakit mata, karena hanya sedikit dan tidak merugikan.

Ali berkata ketika dirinnya sedang menderita sakit mata ia bertemu dengan Rosululloh yang sedang memakan kurma Rosululloh bertanya, “Wahai Ali, apakah engkau ingin makan kurma? ” Beliau kemudian memberikan kurma, ditambah lagi sampai tujuh. Kemudian beliau berkata , “Cukup Ali”

Ibnu Majah meriwayatkan dalam sunan-nya dari hadist yang diriwayatkan oleh Ikramah dari Ibu Abbas berkata “Suatu saat Rosululloh sedang mengunjungi seseorang yang sdang sakit dan bertanya, Apa yang engkau inginkan ? ” Oran itu berkata aku ingin roti gandum, atau (alam riwayat lain) aku ingin kue (Ka’a), Kemudian Rosululloh berkata : “Siapa saja yang memiliki roti gandum, hendaklah ia mengirimkan sebagian kepada saudara ini.” Selanjutnya, Rosululloh bersabda : “Apabila orang yang sedang sakit menginginkan makan sesuatu, berikanlah ia.”

Hadist ini mengandung suatu rahasia kesehatan. Ketika orang sakit memakan makanan yang diinginkan untuk menghilangkan lapar, maka makanan itu lebih bermanfaat dari pada jika ia makan makanan yang tidak diinginkan. Penerimaan atas makanan itu akan mencegah bahaya yang dapat ditimbulkannya. Disamping itu, jika orang yang sedang sakit makan makanan yang tidak diinginkannya, maka dapat menimbulkan kerugian bagi dirinya meskipun zatnya sendiri bermanfaat. Umumnya, makanan yang enak dan disukai dapat diterima tubuh dan dapat dicerna dengan baik, terutama ketika selera maka sangat tinggi.
